It's a bloody new year, so it is, so let's get some new things out to you - in the shape of thirty-two shiny new Mierce Miniatures, for both BaneLegions and Darklands; and a load of new metals for previously only resin miniatures! It's going to be a cracker of a 2018!
Let's start with the Albainn, for anything that could be metal for them is now definitely available in metal - and there's a new Support Starter Host, too, in the long-ranged shape of the Elbharu! The Érainn are next, and as well as three warchiefs they get a Monstrous Infantry Support Host thanks to the release of a new tree-dude, Dairdubh. The Fomoraic get three - two warchiefs and a hairy rhino-man - and the Infernii get two thanks to Great Axe Malacant and his wingless mate, Choloch. The Jutes are never far away these days (and rightly so), because they gain a monstrous warchief - Heldred - and the awesome Gāst Unit. For the Norse we have a yuge load of Trolls, because we've finally finished off the variants of Vörtun and Gjöll so you can grab a unit with two axes or a unit with great axes. There's also the new Felljötunn, a mini-Mjagnir called Stígr. Amazing! Lastly for Darklands there's an awesome sell-sword, Golgog Goat-Eater, who can bring some mercenaries with him into battle with the promise of a few goats to eat! Now, for the BaneLegions, there's five lovely new releases thanks to our Tim Fisher, who has created some fantastic plaguey worm-snake thingies to tickle your rotting bellies with. Bigly!

Again, thanks to us being busier than busy bees we've just not had the time to get the release art and descriptions done; but you can still see some good images of each miniature on the website of course.

The Albainn get themselves a fantastic Support Starter Host this month featuring the lovely Itaina, the fantastic Crossbows of Dun Durn and the awesome Hunters of Cait, crossbow-armed warriors all and sculpted by Olivier Nkweti, Valentin Zak and Yannick Fusier respectively. You can grab these guys in resin or metal, and for an excellent discount on purchasing them individually, too!

Not strictly a miniature release, but hey ho. Simply put, anything that was released for the Albainn that wasn't in metal before now (and is below 60mm in base size) is now available in metal! For those that need detail, that means Dúngal on foot and on pony, Gnith, Drast, Bagseg, Ogmops, the Elbharu and the Oghurithne Hunters. Awesome!

Thanks to the release of Dairdubh this month, we can introduce the Fen Beast Monstrous Infantry Starter Host, which is a great (and cheap!) way of keeping those lochlannach at bay for it contains an Ancient Fen Beast, a unit of five Fen Beasts and a Yew Beast, a powerful host indeed. Sculpted mostly by Didier Fancagne from the artwork by Sam Lamont, with Dairdubh by Aragorn Marks and Tim Prow from the artwork by Stef Kopinski and Dan Warren.
Sculpted by Valentin Zak from the artwork by Sam Lamont, Aidan is a cracking addition to the Érainn for he fulfils an excellent function for a host of theirs as a whole - that of host banner bearer. With him on the table, your Irish have a much greater chance of staying where they are when confronted by dastardly odds!
Another Valentin Zak (sculpt) / Sam Lamont (art) miniature, Crístóir is a somewhat tramp-like Cruimther, a rather smelly individual nevertheless able to exhort his fellows into greater deeds with his faith in the one true God.
Conversely, Nuala represents the old ways of Eriu - for she is a Druí, a sorceress of Danu the earth mother, able to invoke the power held within the land both to heal its defenders and destroy its enemies. Sculpted beautifully by Yannick Hennebo from the artwork by Sam Lamont.
Dairdubh is a Yew Beast, an ancient tree given life by the power of Danu herself and instructed to defend her land with root and branch (and the odd rock). Converted by Tim Prow from the original miniature (Oácyning, a BaneBeast) by Aragorn Marks, with the conversion drawn by Dan Warren from the original artwork by Stef Kopinski.
Hunter Kaarstan is the first Reiver release for the Fomoraic and has been superbly sculpted by Valentin Zak from the artwork by Roberto Cirillo. He's a big lad and his bow comes a bit keen, so watch out!
Maari is an utterly superb miniature, a Reiver Witch able to use the raw power of the tundra and the ice sheets to the advantage of Baalor. Amazingly sculpted by Valentin Zak from the artwork by Roberto Cirillo!
Thanks to Tim Prow and Dan Warren, the superb Malacant (sculpted by Dan Cockersell from the artwork by Stef Kopinski) now has a Great Axe variant and he's all the better for it!
Once again converted by Tim Prow / Dan Warren from the original by Dan Cockersell / Stef Kopinski, Choloch is - very simply - Malacant without wings, representing an earlier stage of the path to Infernus. Note that his weapons and arms are interchangeable with Malacant's, so you could have him with an axe and shield... if you buy the components, of course!
Heldred is a Drēaguth Thain, a feared, hate-filled commander of the undead and a very unpleasant being indeed. Sculpted by Edgar Skomorowski from the artwork by Danny Cruz.
The Hateful of Mordain Grave are a unit of three Gāsta, the phantoms of unremembered kings held together in the corporeal world thanks to their bitter, loathful will. The Jutes field very few Gāsta, for they are ancient and rare. Sculpted by Edgar Skomorowski from the artwork by Danny Cruz, the Gāsta can be purchased as a unit of three or individually - Anlāf the champion; Grændal; and Wadæc, both warriors.
Thanks to the conversions of Vörtun we can now release the long-awaited units of Trolls - in two flavours, the Two Axe Troll Unit and the Great Axe Troll Unit! The Trolls of Norrheim (converted by Andrew May from the originals by Allan Carrasco) sport two axes, the better to brain their enemies with, and comprise Vörtun the champion, Gjöll the vane-bearer and three warriors - Torleik, Gurrir and Nisurl, all previously available. Jöllu, the warrior version of Gjöll, is also available now.
The Great Axe Trolls - featuring a conversion by Andrew May and two new Trolls by Allan Carrasco - sport a mighty great axe, the better to knock the block off their enemies with, and comprise Vörto the champion, Gjöllund the vane-bearer and three warriors - the previously available Unnolg and two new 'uns, Gando and Valdr. Jöllund, the warrior version of Gjöllund, is also available now.
Sculpted by Ernst Veingart from the artwork by Dan Warren, Stígr is a superb Felljötunn, smaller than Mjagnir maybe but able to pack a massive punch regardless. He also doesn't eat so many cows, pigs, sheep, goats and the occasional passers-by, which saves a bit of gold.
Speaking of gold and eating goats, here's an utterly superb addition to the ranks of the sell-swords who will, quite literally, work for any old goat. A consumer of goats by the dozen, Golgog will hire his services and his band of freebooters to anybody with enough groats (or goats - see what we did there? Eh? Eh? Ahem.) to get him through the next week. Sculpted by the awesome Yannick Fusier from the artwork by Roberto Cirillo!
Known to his mates (and you guys, now) as ball-chin, B'ahl'kch'in is an armoured Blight Beast well able to knock blocks off with his block-knocking ball-fist, whilst also knocking back pints of fermented pig urine. No, really, Tim said so - and he should know, because he converted him from Morannach, the better to infest your tabletop with blightedness.
Also converted by Tim (this time from a Peat Beast), the Beasts of Dung-Dwell are Midden-Beasts, cadaverous and cantakerous tentacled monstrosities who would rather eat you than look at you. Note we use the word "eat" loosely, because all manner of holes in these guys could open and swallow you, er, whole. There's three of 'em, an' all - The Tentacled One, The Gorged One and The Skull-Faced One.
All of the releases above will be officially released on the 6th of January 2018. That's tomorrow, folks, so you can order them right now!
Watch out for the February releases, which should be unveiled soon!
