Of all those created by the Atalantes the terrible monsters of Lís are the strangest and the most dangerous, for one glance into their many eyes is enough to become as petrified as the very rocks themselves. Such is their terrifying, unknowable power that few visit Lís and live: still fewer speak with the Lísk-lords or the Great Lísk himself to beg for the aid of their unique abilities. Shaped by their progenitors to defeat the beasts of the continent with something other than brute force, the Lískar are highly intelligent beings who quickly realised they were little more than slaves and murderers: and they were amongst the first to turn from the hosts of men, for little could be done to combat the will of such awful creatures.
