Merry Christmas Everyone!
Rob LaneShare
Christmas Eve. A strange day, to be sure, but no less lovely for all that; full of anticipation and wonder for many, last minute shopping stress for many more, and very long journeys for others (rest in peace Chris). For me, it's always brought a sense of calm, because it heralds a few days where I don't have to think about work (he says, writing this for work) and I can concentrate on my family. Not that I don't normally: but I have this other family that demands all sorts of other things from me most of the time...
So before I head into calmness, I thought I'd better update you on the ghosts of Mierce past, present and future...
Past my Bedtime
This time last week I was laid up in bed, literally bed-ridden, with a particularly terrible bout of man-flu, but I've finally managed to come out the other side now; I actually got into the workshop yesterday and got some packages sent. Not as much as I'd have liked, because I also gave the man-flu to the Mierce casting trolls too, and so they've been off for a few days; but it is what it is - I can only apologise if one of those packages wasn't for you. Rest assured, once we're back in the new year, we'll get to your package pretty quickly. Such is life for ordering made to order miniatures.
2025 has been a strange old year for us. We've gone back to the digital files after we said we wouldn't do them ever again, we've added more hobby stuff to the ranges we sell, and we've started making other manufacturers' miniatures, all the while trying to keep ahead of the backlog - poorly, it has to be said. The last few months - since I've been doing the printing myself - have been a bit manic, if truth be told; I don't want to do that again, so I won't be pushing Grey Wulf resin offers for a good long while. I'm bloody exhausted, physically and mentally, but thankfully I've only a few orders to catch up on when I get back in January, and at that point I can crack on with the backlog.
Printing miniatures one-to-a-plate is much, much easier on the brain cells than having to create mixplates of loads of different miniatures for each night; and it does lead to stock being kept rather than making to order. So I'll be doing lots of that for the miniatures we still owe you guys instead!
Present Tents
I'm sure many of you would like to see what's happening in terms of the digital subscriptions in January, so let's have a look at what Rafael Callegari has been up to!
Gairlom, that's what! He's just about finished these guys and so they'll be ready (along with their gairmorlom and wild oghurüc brothers) for January's battle host.
He's also sculpted this very new Ciniod, a long-awaited resculpt if ever there was one!
Future Foolishness
2026 should be much more interesting than 2025, if you're interested in new Mierce Miniatures, as of course we'll be continuing with the monthly battle hosts and the odd kickstarter project. As I said in my previous blog, we'll have completed the sculpting backlog by May (if not the production backlog), and then we'll be doing some completely new stuff each month!
To recap (backlog items in bold italic):
- January - Albainn Ciniod, Gairmorlom/Gairlom and the Wild Oghurüc
- February - Jute Cweld, Ghulas, Gryreghulas and Nihtbats
- March - Fomoraic Chaagmuth, Gabrax and Gabrox
- April - Ysian/Vras Grigg, Brutes, Brute-Beasts and Rend-Vras
- May - Anglecynn Geoguth and Wereofor
That's the sculpting backlog sorted, and then...
- June - Byzantii Demilegionarii
- July - Norse Halftrolls
- August - Khthones Lískar
- September - Brythoniaid Rhyfelwr
- October - Érainn Fen Beast
- November - Infernii Fiend
- December - Fomoraic Raider
(Note that I do reserve the right to change the above if I have a fit of inspiration for something else). Truly, a year full of amazing Mierce Miniatures!
That's it for now, fellow Miercenaries. Time to start cooking! I've got a massive slab of gammon to get in the oven... and no, that's not a euphemism!
We'll be back on the week beginning the 5th of January, so until then - have a very Merry Christmas from us all, and a cracking new year. You all deserve it!
