The Anglo-Saxons' new year began, rather confusingly for us modern westerners, on December 24th and was called ‘Æfterra Ḡēola’ or, quite literally, ‘After Yule’; today is in fact the 11th of Æfterra Ḡēola!
Bede tells us that Ḡēola refers to the day that the sun ‘turns around’ and the day begins to increase in length, which does of course mean the winter solstice. We can look forward to the nights brightening, at least in the northern hemisphere.
This year we'll bring you lots more offers, of course, but hopefully ones that are very different. Watch out for the all-new Starter Commands early in 2023!

Please bear in mind that promotions like this quickly strip the stock that we hold, so we do ask that you remain patient while we sort your order out. We can never tell, really, which miniatures are popular from one promotion to the next! Happy New Year!
