Rats and Bobs

It's almost March, which is both a Good and a Bad Thing; good because spring is approaching at speed and bad... well actually, it's all Good!

You Dirty Rats

I'm not just a loreyer; I'm also a mawyer, a clawyer, a jawyer and and a gnawyer. That's because March sees the release of new rats - mole-rats to be precise, in the warty and loveably chubby shape of the vras! Rafael Callegari has again worked his magic on our monthly battle host, not least upon the not-so-loveable shape of the rend-vras, in three forms -

glaive-rend-vras, with great weapons;

claw-rend-vras, using just the gifts that the buck-vras gave them;

and the maul-rend-vras, carrying two weapons into battle.

These guys are the meat of the vras battle host, standing on 50mm bases and being around 50-60mm tall. Rat ogres, if you will!

These nasty fellows will be led by Greatblade Grey-Fur wearing a shiny hat and will complement their much smaller cousins the war-vras. These are effectively spear-vras with great weapons and helms. There will also be a pin up captive to annoy blue-haired people. If you know what Blunt-Claw likes to eat, you'll know what that will look like...

Watch out for the release of the vras next week! Rafael is running a little behind on these guys, but I do expect them to be uploaded and sorted by Friday.

Return of the Bob

So Bob Plociennik of Darklands yore is returning to the fold, and he's going to return with a Big Fat Bang!

We're both not quite sure what form Bob's work will take yet, but I have a mind to get him sculpting some monstrosities. I'm exploring the possibility of a new tier on the subscriptions - monsters! Or monstrous units; $15/£10 per month, maybe things that will complement that month's battle host release, maybe not... maybe a kickstarter or a frontier.

Anyhow, for the first monster/monstrous unit, I'm open to suggestions; but I have an inkling for a unit of marchomawr ceffyldraig. If you're wondering what that mouthful may look like, here you go:

That's Geraint Nerthol on a wingless dragon-horse, of course; there'd be a unit of three, with a resculpt of him to boot.

Next month's (April's) battle host will be the gabrax, so maybe something to do with those... but as I say, I'm open to suggestions. Post what you'd like to see in the comments!
