Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Rob Lane

It's 2026, fellow Miercenaries, so here's a little missive from me to wish you a great new year ahead. We've got some fantastic miniatures coming in the next few months, as well as other things, so strap yourselves in and enjoy...

January

First, a word about this month's digital releases. Because of the festive period it will be next week before I can actually release the Albainn to you all (I'm not back in the workshop until Monday the 5th), but rest assured, Rafael Callegari has pulled out an enormous number of stops to get everything done on time despite me putting a bit too much on him.

This month's files will include:

  • Shieldwall Ciniod, Umaer of Dun Durn on foot
  • Greatsword Ciniod, Umaer of Dun Durn on foot
  • Skyclad Itaina, Umaer of Dun Durn [Pin Up] on foot and on horse
  • Spears of Dun Durn, Gairlom Unit
  • Veterans of Dun Durn, Gairmorlom Unit
  • Oghu Lobbers, Wild Oghurüc Unit
  • Oghu Slashers, Vicious Oghurüc Unit

This is actually the very first digital Albainn host ever released by ourselves, as most of the Albainn are still physical; and so we will have to say goodbye to the old Ciniod, the Veterans and Spears of Dun Durn and the wild oghurüc Magágg (our very first miniature ever, from 2010). Can you believe that? Magágg is fifteen years old... almost as old as my son! Crazy.

Here's a few images, although bear in mind there's going to be a few tweaks to get everything to my liking for next week - these aren't the finished article:

Greatsword Ciniod

Veterans of Dun Durn

Noragg, Wild Oghurüc

Work on next month's battle host will start as soon as these guys are done, and remember that it's the Jutes in February!

I'm a Loreyer, Harry

Having had some good thinking time over Christmas, I want to give you more lore to go with each set of releases. I know you all want this and I'm desperate to write it - but time, as ever, is my enemy.

I'm switching focus to get that time. For the past six months, giddy with printing knowledge, I've been concentrating on the physical side of things for both our Grey Wulf resin miniatures and those from other companies. Frankly, I'm knackered, and have had very little spare time to do much else, so I'm going to scale that down a fair bit. I'll still do plenty of sales for the cast resin side of things, and I'll be putting more monsters into cast resin; but pushing sales for Grey Wulf resin miniatures (i.e., printing them) has to stop. You'll still be able to purchase the Grey Wulf resin stuff at full price, and we'll obviously produce them for you, but I am concentrating on printing the backlog for the foreseeable as well as creating stock.

You see, printing stuff for stock/the backlog is far, far easier than printing stuff for orders; it's much simpler and far less time-consuming to print one miniature on a plate (where it doesn't necessarily matter so much if a few of them fail) than lots of different miniatures on a plate (where it becomes maddening very quickly if things fail).

Anyway: the upshot of this is that I have more time to concentrate on things I should be concentrating on, as well as ensuring the backlog gets done quicker. I'll write lore for each new noble, unit of infantry, giant monster or whatever it is for you to digest alongside that month's digital files, because content with context is everything.

Hopefully more lore leads to more subscribers, which means I have more time to work on more lore, and so on and so forth!

Dr Fysik

While I will be releasing the physical miniatures from each battle host (got to do that yet for the reivers), I won't be pushing them with sales or offers; they'll be at full price for the foreseeable. Got to get that physical backlog down, Miercenaries!

Re-Kneecapping

To recap, here's the scheduled releases for 2026 (backlog items in bold italic):

  • April - Ysian/Vras Grigg, Brutes, Brute-Beasts and Rend-Vras
  • May - Anglecynn Geoguth and Wereofor

We'll have completed the sculpting backlog by May (if not the production backlog), and then we'll be doing some completely new stuff each month!

  • June - Byzantii Demilegionarii
  • July - Norse Halftrolls
  • August - Khthones Lískar
  • September - Brythoniaid Rhyfelwr
  • October - Érainn Fen Beast
  • November - Infernii Fiend
  • December - Fomoraic Raider

(Note that I do reserve the right to change the above if I have a fit of inspiration for something else).

So raise a glass to the year ahead, guys and gals. It will be full of awesome Mierce Miniatures and more lore for you to digest!
