Making re-usable mold for bases

Postby AndyS » Fri Aug 30, 2013 12:08 pm

Hi guys!

I am planning on making some molds for base inserts. I figure it will save some time on basing in the long run. I have a few questions.

1) Should I use a 2 part silicone rubber (liguid) a silicone putty or even instant mold?
2) Should I cast in resin or use an epoxy putty?

I figure a 1 piece mold will be ok. Just pour the resin or squish the putty into the open top. I think 4 or 5 inserts for 30mm bases should give enough variety once grass and moss is added to different places.

Any advice guys?

I've tried Instantmold but wasn't particually taken with it, a simple 1 piece rubber mold should do the trick nicely though :)
