Host Herald & Host Instrument

Rob,

The Anglecynn Host Herald Hornblawere carries a Host Instrument that states as well as being a Host Instrument it also lowers a Flank Test by -2D10.

Does this mean that any units of kin Wulf on Flank orders benefit from the Flank Test Modifier of -10 for the Host Instrument, as well as the Host Herald Modifier of -2D10?

The Flank Modifier states that the Host Instrument must be 'of the Battlefield', but I have looked through every muster at Host Heralds and none of them have this anywhere mentioned on their profiles.

I’d say you just get the -2D10 as that’s a special effect for that specific herald profile but I’ll defer to Rob for the confirmation

I would have thought that both applied, as with the Special effect, you have a 50:50 chance that you are going to roll less than -10

I feel it’s an army rule trumps rulebook but I’m sure rob will confirm :)

It's a modifier with no other qualifications, and all modifiers are cumulative, so yes, it's -3D10 in total as it's a Host Instrument.

Cheers
