499 list to get started

Postby Tiern Gwitreg » Mon Mar 25, 2019 3:02 pm

Hi there fellow Brythons,

I took interest in Darklands quite recently, and bought some minis already ; I would like to assemble a small 499g army to get started with ruleset and all. Thanks to narrativity, I have a few constraints, one of them being that my army will hail from Gwynedd, and the second being that I don't plan to use dyndraigs except for the Dewindraig in higher points lists.

So, knowing this, what do you think of this list for 499 gold :

General : Abad 70g
General Command :
- Bard 31g
- Teulu (Full Command) x10 180g

Command : Abad 70g
- Drilled Rhyfelwr (Full Command) x10 140g

Total cost 490g

With your restrictions it is not a bad start, its main weakness is the lack of outright punch which you will find with humans as you scale up but good to see a theme in mind.

As you expand I would recommend a Teryn general and look to expand your rhyfelwr pool.

You can also get the true dragons in down the line too!

Thank you !

Yes, for scaling up I thought about getting a Teyrn ; is it worth something to put him on a ceffyldraig ? (Because I find the mini way too beautiful to not use it ^^) The draigllai and the draiggoch are in my expansion list as well ; i'll take time to read and understand the rules (and errata !) before creating expanded lists !

There have been times its been a hindrance and others its been a brilliant force multiplier, it will entirely depend what you run against. It's not a heavy hitter as such but helps bust certain small end monsters
