Darklands: Savage Hordes III Part Deux - Fulfilment

Postby Rob Lane » Fri Oct 27, 2017 1:51 pm

DARKLANDS: SAVAGE HORDES III PART DEUX
FULFILMENT

Sculpted Miniatures Have Release Dates
For many reasons, not least transparency, we've decided that already sculpted miniatures will get actual production dates: that way we can work towards them, keep you informed on the webstore itself and remove some of the confusion.

Metals too!
We have now begun casting metal miniatures in-house but there will be delays because we need to get them moulded, which is still done by an external company. Again, we have a schedule for this, and firm dates as to when we believe production will begin - and that is the same time as the resins. For older stuff, where resins have been released for ages, they too have firm production dates. Read on!

What Ships When
Here's an up to date list of what we think will be shipped when.

Resin Miniatures:

SHIPMENT WAVE 26 (April 2019): Creoda's Pack, Guthwulf Unit (Creoda - Acha - Pybba)
FEBRUARY 2020 (April 2019): Beasts of Uthard, Brute-Beast Unit (Grom - Trugg - Anz)
SEPTEMBER 2020: Vul II Tykho, Skorpion Minor Unit (Tykho - Sicatus - Pravo)
OCTOBER 2020: Uuroch - Nihtglōm - Ætulla - Hooded Ætulla

Items in green will DEFINITELY be sent in that wave as we have them in hand.
Items in yellow italics have been received from the sculptor or printer but not yet moulded. They should be sent in that wave, but it's possible they will slip into the next wave.
Items in italics are in progress and should make it into that wave, but we don't yet have the sculpt or 3d print.
Items not in bold or in italics may still make it into that wave, but may not.

Purchasing Deadlines
There's still time to purchase everything from this project...

    Wave 0 Miniatures: complete
    Wave 26 Miniatures: April 27th 2019
The Rest: we've ended late pledges (except under certain circumstances) and added everything to the main webstore as Kickstarter items.

Keep watching this list as it may well change - and if you have any issues with the above timings, please let us know and we may well be able to push the deadline back a little for you.
We reserve the right to change any of the above dates without notice.

Sculpts and Sculptors
Here's the big list of who's sculpting what and when for Darklands: Savage Hordes! Please bear in mind that this list may change over time, so don't take it as set in stone until the first work in progress shots appear.

We've split the lists into completely new sculpts and alterations to make life easier for us all!

New Sculpts and Alterations:
BOB PŁOCIENNIK: Bob has now completed Wihtwald on Wiht Horsa and he'll be doing the Wihtgār Horse and Wihtax Horse next. Then it's Grachdu and Dugrach and the Trolls of Skarheim!
RAFAEL DIOLI: Raffa will do Maari on Horse and the Reiver Hunter Horse Unit.
Lots to do, but a start has been made...

Completed Sculpts
We thought this would be a good idea, as things are cracking on - a list of completed sculpts, in kindred order! Completed sculpts are in green; in progress sculpts are in yellow italics.

New Sculpts and Alterations:
    ALBAINN: N/A
ANGLECYNN: Creoda's Pack, Guthwulf Unit (Creoda - Acha - Pybba)
    ATALANTES: N/A
    BRYTHONIAID: Grachdu - Dugrach
BYZANTII: Vul II Tykho (Tykho - Sicatus - Pravo)
    ÉRAINN: N/A
FOMORAIC: Uuroch - Unarmoured Chaaruch - Maari on Horse - Reiver Hunter Horse Unit
    INFERNII: Zhull
JUTES: Eormanræd on Horse - Helmed Eormanræd on Horse - Ætulla on Horse - Hooded Ætulla on Horse - Wihtwald on Wiht Horsa - Wihtgār Horse Unit - Wihtax Horse Unit - Nihtglōm
    KHTHONES: N/A
NORSE: Trolls of Skarheim (Skeggi - Mälmord - Ulf)
    VRAS: N/A
YSIANS: Beasts of Uthard, Brute-Beast Unit (Grom - Trugg - Anz)
    SELL-SWORDS: N/A

Let us know if we've missed anything, of course!

Brutish Beasts

Postby Rob Lane » Fri Oct 27, 2017 2:24 pm

There's just one miniature to show this time around, but it's such an amazing one it would be rude not to let the Ysians amongst you have a good look...

BEASTS OF UTHARD, BRUTE-BEAST UNIT
We were so impressed with Jason Hendricks' work on the Corruptors that we decided to give him the Beasts of Uthard, Brute-Beast Unit - and he really has not disappointed at all...!

Grom, Hammer-Glaive-Kill-Brute-Beast
Grom, the champion of the Brute-Beast unit, is really taking shape and is very menacing indeed... he's on an 80mm base, and is bloody huge!

Here's a scale shot to show you just how big he is...

We're very much hoping these guys will be a Wave 20 shipment, but we will see...

Help us, Patrick Swayze!

Postby Rob Lane » Fri Nov 10, 2017 12:11 pm

Just the one miniature again, for the Ysians, and it's now complete. Nice!

BEASTS OF UTHARD, BRUTE-BEAST UNIT
The awesome Grom returns, complete, ready for some killy action with his mates. Who aren't done yet, but will be worked on by Jason very soon.

Grom, Hammer-Glaive-Kill-Brute-Beast
Grom - the champion of the Brute-Beast unit - is now complete, and looks bloody amazing. That right arm - once some kind of lizardy arm - looks fantastic!

Image

Here's a size indicator:

Image

He's big, very big.

Image

Let us all beseech the God of Sculpting, Patrick Swayze, to get these ready for Wave 20.

Spinal Rip

Postby Rob Lane » Fri Jan 26, 2018 12:50 pm

Again, just one miniature for the Ysians from Jason this time around...

BEASTS OF UTHARD, BRUTE-BEAST UNIT
The simply awesome Beasts of Uthard, Brute-Beast Unit are only awesome because of Danny Cruz' and Jason Hendricks' efforts, so let us salute those two stars of artistry!

Trugg, Spine-Falchion-Brute-Beast
The second warrior of the unit, Trugg appears to have ripped a big spine out of something and, like as not, beat its original owner to beyond death with it. What a lovely chap he must be.

The Gloom of Night

Postby Rob Lane » Wed Aug 22, 2018 10:50 am

Just the one miniature to show, for the Jutes, but it's looking superb and we can't bloody wait for it. Even so, those of a nervous disposition who don't like creepy crawlies should look away now...

NIHTGLŌM, WOLD MANASCEANCAN
Sometimes there are no words to explain how we feel about a miniature; when we first saw Nihtglōm (pronounced 'night gloom') our jaws dropped, to be honest. So I'll shut up and show you.

Image
Image

It's early days, but we're confident this guy (and the one with Grīma on top) will be a Wave 25 (February) shipment...

One miniature, for the Jutes, thirty legs. Which is nice.

NIHTGLŌM, WOLD MANASCEANCAN
Nihtglōm is utterly brilliant, and has been sculpted by Bob Płociennik from the artwork by Danny Cruz.

War-Wolves

Postby Rob Lane » Fri Oct 12, 2018 9:24 am

Two big miniatures to show today, and both for the Anglecynn. How splendid!

CREODA'S PACK, GUTHWULF UNIT
Creoda is one of our oldest miniatures: certainly a lot older than what will be his packmates, and we'd never consider anyone other than Allan Carrasco to sculpt them. So here's his work on Creoda's Pack!

Creoda, Guthwulf
Here's a reprise of the still-amazing Creoda.

Image

Still an utterly beautiful miniature!

Acha, Guthwulf
The first new Guthwulf is Acha...

Image
Image
Image

...he'll be holding some entrails or other grisly stuff in his left paw... hand? No, paw-hand!

Pybba, Guthwulf
The third Guthwulf is Pybba, a more conventional leaping style of wolf...

Image
Image
Image

It's early days for these guys yet, and Allan is pretty busy; he reckons the end of November, which is great! They should be a February shipment in that case. Woot!

Arrooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...

Postby Rob Lane » Fri Dec 07, 2018 12:40 pm

Well, well, well. Here we have two utterly brilliant miniatures from an utterly brilliant sculptor: Allan Carrasco has once again done the business, and this time for the Anglecynn...

CREODA'S PACK, GUTHWULF UNIT
The Guthwulf Creoda has been around for a long, long time so he's definitely ready for some mates. So here's Creoda's Pack, courtesy of Allan Carrasco!

Acha, Guthwulf
Acha is the first of Creoda's new mates and he is a real meanie, as you can tell by the expression on his face... and remember: these are still man-wolves, not full wolves... that's why they have hands!

Image
Image
Image
Image

Can't remember what he's chewing on but it must be meaty... or offal-y...

Pybba, Guthwulf
The second new mate of Creoda is Pybba, and he is a real leaper!

Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

These guys will be a Wave 26 shipment, we think. They're not quite finished yet, but should be very soon!

Three Wulfas

Postby Rob Lane » Fri Dec 07, 2018 12:42 pm

Two miniatures to show this week, both for the Anglecynn. You know the score.

CREODA'S PACK, GUTHWULF UNIT
Allan Carrasco needs no introduction to the Miercenaries, but for those who don't know him, all that needs to be said is that he's a Master Sculptor. Just have a look at these three Guthwulfas!

Creoda, Guthwulf
Let us take a moment to reflect upon the original Guthwulf, Creoda...

Image

...an absolute masterpiece, and now the champion of a unit of Guthwulfas.

Acha, Guthwulf
The next Guthwulf is Acha, holding some kind of fleshy bowel thing he's clearly ripped out of something or someone.

Image
Image

The big question is, why is he looking over there...? Maybe he's spotted more prey. Perhaps he can smell the local Gregg's and fancies a sausage roll. My money would be on that, you can smell them from a mile off even if you're a human.

Pybba, Guthwulf
Here's the last member of the unit, Pybba, and what a member he is...

Image
Image

These guys will be a Wave 26 shipment or we're all Dutchmen!

Brutish Beasts

Postby Rob Lane » Fri Jun 28, 2019 12:13 pm

Just the one miniature to show, for the Ysians....

BEASTS OF UTHARD, BRUTE-BEAST UNIT
Jason Hendricks' work on the Beasts of Uthard, Brute-Beast Unit was so awesome we were rather disappointed when Jason had to take time off from them; but now he's back, and better than ever...

Image

Grom, Hammer-Glaive-Kill-Brute-Beast
As it's been so long it would be rude not to show you how awesome the other two Brute-Beasts are. So here's Grom, the champion of the unit:

Image

...remember, these are on 80mm bases, so are bloody huge...

Trugg, Spine-Falchion-Brute-Beast
The next Brute-Beast is Trugg and probably Jason's best work for us so far...

Image

The movement imbued into this guy is just impossible to comprehend!

Anz, Mace-Claw-Brute-Beast
And so we come to Anz, the last member of the unit.

Image
Image
Image
Image

Whilst that puny haft will definitely be changed, he's pretty much done, so it shouldn't be too long before we get a hold of these guys. Although we are discussing whether we should get him to do the great weapon versions as well, before he sends them over - we shall see.

What's Next?
Bob will be doing the Duguth Ēored soon, which should look bloody awesome, as well as Culcca. As for the rest... well, we'll probably get Bob to do it all - except for any Ysians, which will go to Rafael Dioli now...

Uuroch!

Postby Rob Lane » Mon Nov 18, 2019 4:42 pm

It's just the one miniature this week, but it's awesome and it's for the Fomoraic kindred, Conand realm...

UUROCH, SCION OF CONAND
I've run out of superlatives for Allan Carrasco, and I can waffle: so he must be bloody good at sculpting. All hail Uuroch, the incredible Scion of Conand!

Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

He stands around 85mm tall, or so Allan tells me, so he's going to be as big as Belech...

What's Next?
Bob will be doing the Duguth Ēored soon, which should look bloody awesome, as well as Culcca. As for the rest... well, we'll probably get Bob to do it all - except for any Ysians, which will go to Rafael Dioli now...

Uuroch Rocks

Postby Rob Lane » Fri Nov 22, 2019 11:59 am

Again, just the one miniature this week, but it's utterly fantastic and it's for the Fomoraic kindred, Conand realm...

UUROCH, SCION OF CONAND
So Allan Carrasco continues to churn out the awesome, and we continue to be astounded by his latest masterwork, Uuroch. You would have thought it could get a little tiring to see so much incredible from just one man: but it never is...

Image
Image
Image
Image

Here's a scale shot...

He'll be shipping early next year, we should think.

Jethro Ætulla

Postby Rob Lane » Fri Aug 07, 2020 12:47 pm

One miniature to show, for the Jutes, but in three formats...

ÆTULLA, WIGLACA
So with mounted Ætulla being a part of this project, rather than convert the existing miniature we tasked Bob Płociennik to sculpt him digitally as it's bloody easier. That means, of course, we get a new version of him on foot, too!

Image
Image

Here's the Hooded Ætulla version on foot:

Image
Image

...and now, what you've all been waiting for, Ætulla on Horse!

Image
Image

It's not totally finished, but it's 98% there... hooded Ætulla on horse will be shown next time.

What's Next?
Jason Hendricks will be doing the great weapon versions of the Brute-Beasts at some point. Bob Płociennik has begun work on Savage Hordes III so it won't be long before he moves on to the cavalry from this project - although we'll probably get him to do the skorpions before anything else! Then the Cawrdraig... then the Wiht cavalry...!

Postby Rob Lane » Fri Aug 07, 2020 12:48 pm

Well, miniature, for the Jutes...

ÆTULLA, WIGLACA
The final version of Ætulla - hooded, on a horse - is now done, thanks to Bob Płociennik!

Image
Image

So you can put a fork in him, Jute people!

What's Next?
Bob Płociennik will be doing the Skorpion Minor unit in the next month, so expect those next time... along with pretty much everything else. Except for the Great Club Brute-Beasts, which Jason Hendricks will do.

Minor Skorpions

Postby Rob Lane » Fri Aug 07, 2020 1:23 pm

There's three of them to show off this time, for the Byzantii, and they are bloody amazing!

VUL II TYKHO, SKORPION MINOR UNIT
As soon as Bob Płociennik completed Selkilias from another project, the Skorpion Minors have been notable by their absence. No more do we have to wait for these 60mm-based beauties!

Tykho, Skorpion Minor
The nominal leader of the unit is Tykho...

Image
Image

...but he's an animal, so these guys need the Bestiarii to work well...

Sicatus, Skorpion Minor
Sicatus is the second warrior of the unit...

Image
Image

...these things are really shudder-worthy!

Pravo, Skorpion Minor
The last member of the unit is Pravo...

Image
Image

So these guys are done and will be produced and released in September.

You can purchase them here: https://mierce-miniatures.com/index.php ... bs_710_000

What's Next?
Bob Płociennik will be doing pretty much everything in this project except for the Great Club Brute-Beasts, which Jason Hendricks will do.

Eormanrædy

Postby Rob Lane » Fri Jun 30, 2023 12:53 pm

Two miniatures to show today, both for the Jutes, and both by Bob Płociennik...

EORMANRÆD, CANT FORTHAIN ON FOOT AND ON HORSE
Now Eormanræd - that beautiful sculpt produced by Jacques-Alexandre Gillois - has been around for a fair while now, and when we created the artwork for Eormanræd on Horse JAG was still around and accepting commissions. Sadly, that is no longer the case, so we decided to get our very own Bob Płociennik to sculpt him.

One thing led to another, said the vicar: we decided to get him to resculpt the foot version too!

Image
Image

Here's the helmed version:

Image

So here's the mounted version. If you're wondering about Eormanræd's enormous horse (not a euphemism), it's meant to be enormous - for reasons that will become clear one day...

Image
Image

Here's the helmed version...

Image

We think you will agree that Bob has done a fantastic job!

The new Eormanræd on foot and on horse will be in production later on this year, in July... watch out for a promotion at the time!

What's Next?
Next up for Bob in this project will be the Wihtgār Horse, later on this year, and then Grachdu and Dugrach, the Cawrdraig. Then it'll be the Felltroll Unit, the Trolls of Skarheim. Rafael will be doing the Reiver Hunter Horse and various Reiver nobles on Horse...

Flogging a Dead Horse

Postby Rob Lane » Fri Jun 30, 2023 12:55 pm

Just the one miniature to show today, for the Jutes, and by Bob Płociennik...

WIHTWALD, WIHT THAIN ON WIHT HORSA
To say that Bob has excelled himself here is to say that the sun is hot, or giraffes are tall. He continually astounds us, but Wihtwald on Wiht Horsa has to be one of his very best!

Image
Image
Image
Image

There's a couple of options for him, too; he can be helmed or unhelmed, and with spear or with sword, as you can see below.

Image

The Jutes are next in terms of production for us, which should begin in August...

What's Next?
Next up for Bob in this project will be the Wihtgār Horse and Wihtax Horse straight after Wihtwald, and then the Felltroll Unit, the Trolls of Skarheim, and then Grachdu and Dugrach, the Cawrdraig. Rafael will be doing the Reiver Hunter Horse and various Reiver nobles on Horse...

Re: Darklands: Savage Hordes III Part Deux - Fulfilment

Postby Rob Lane » Thu Jul 13, 2023 11:08 am

We've got quite a few miniatures to show this week, seven in fact, and all for the Jutes!

RIDERS OF BLACK BARROW, WIHTGĀR ĒORED UNIT
Once again, Bob Płociennik has knocked it out of the park; the Wihtgār Ēored is, quite simply, fantastic. But don't take our word for it, these seven undead cavalry miniatures can be seen below...

Sigheard, Wihtgār Ēored Champion
The champion of the unit is Sigheard...

Image
Image

...he comes with a helmet and a bit more armour on his horse than the rest...

Image

and, like all the Wihtgār Ēored warriors, with a sword option too, which you get in the same pack.

Ricbert, Wihtgār Ēored Banner Bearer
The observant will note that the names of these guys are the same as the Wihtgār warriors, and that's because they actually are the same warriors!

Image
Image
Image

Ricbert is of course the banner bearer...

Ælgar, Wihtgār Ēored Herald
The herald is Ælgar...

Image
Image

Ricbert is of course the banner bearer...

...but how does he blow his horn?

Terribly!

Ahem.

Cynemund, Wihtgār Ēored Warrior
The first warrior is Cynemund...

Image
Image

...he's pretty cool.

Oswine, Wihtgār Ēored Warrior
The second warrior is Oswine...

Image
Image

...who's a bit shouty, to be honest.

Bertræd, Wihtgār Ēored Warrior
The alternate warrior of the banner bearer is Bertræd...

Image
Image

...he loves '70s disco.

Ælfric, Wihtgār Ēored Warrior
Lastly but not leastly, Ælfric is the alternate warrior of the herald!

Image
Image

That's the Wihtgār Ēored! These guys along with the other Jutes are next in terms of production for us, which should begin in August...

What's Next?
Next up for Bob in this project will be the Wihtax Horse from this project; and then the Felltroll Unit, the Trolls of Skarheim, and then Grachdu and Dugrach, the Cawrdraig. Rafael will be doing the Reiver Hunter Horse and various Reiver nobles on Horse...
