That is excellent news.
One more thing: when a unit of warriors that only has one combat weapon attacks but some of it's warriors are unengaged at the time of the first attack, does that count as those warriors not having attacked yet?

Attack Action
After reading the Attack action rules for a hundredth time, I'm none the wiser so with my hat in my hand I turn to wise in search of clarity. Let's say I have a big unit of twenty Holumenn do an indirect engagement to an enemy unit of twenty Wihtgars. After completing my move, let's say fifteen of m...

As a result of this thread I've been rereading the Attack action pages over and over again and I'm even more baffled than before. I though I had a grasp on how attacking works but it turns out I really don't. I'll start a separate thread so this won't get cluttered...

Re: Question about the Jute Deathbringers Dead Lantern
I've yet to come up with an effective counter strategy against them (bar using Atalantes). So far I've tried: - Shooting them with lightning spells with Troll Gothi. Sometimes works, but because they're difficultly seen thanks to Licwaca's lamp, it's mostly down to luck to even hit them. Not very co...

Allright, but what's the weakness of Gasts? With Gast Cyning they have extremely high Skill and Might, they're almost impossible to hit with ranged weapons and they pretty much devastate anything they gaze at.

Low skills are pretty common for monsters though, so the issue still remains. I have also witnessed the absurd power of the Gast Cyning's and it's Gast's gaze power. So much more powerful than their melee attacks, that they don't really want to get into melee.

In 6.2.2.2 under Walk Action it says that Walkers under Attack orders can only Change Direction to face an enemy unit, does this effectively turn the Walk move into a Direct move? Part of Islam's quick success in the byzantines was probably due to Byzantine being exhausted from a previous war (in our world). Concerning the Toxokolossos; at first glance they seemed great, walking ballistas, but the truth settled in quite quickly after a few test games with them. A mix of gigantic and not-gigantic makes sense to me with a Joined unit, but not with a Bound unit when the gap between could be quite large. In some instances you can even fit a whole other unit between the bound units and they're not affected by the gigantic unit in any way! I will conced the ride...

Hoplites or Oplites
Is there a reason hoplites in Darklands are written as Oplites? Ancient greeks wrote it as oplites, but there's a diacritic on the first O meaning it's pronounced with a heavy breathing sound, like the sound of the letter h, which is why it's often translated to hoplite and oplite. But what's the re...

Ah, okay so that's something that we've been playing wrong, but in our instance wouldn't have made a difference. It's entirely possible we've been playing flyers (specifically soarers) completely wrong and this whole point is moot, in which case I'd be glad to find out if I'm wrong. In the case of the Jutes, I think the best option would be a low ranking commander RIDING a spider or a bat and so be a scout/flanker commander ;) I like the vassal scout commander idea, not sold on the 1-1-3-4 yet. Jutes and the Spiders. They're Foresters, so can Scout (I think). Also their bats are scouts as well, but they don't have any scout commanders. Many can get Flanker ability if you buy them a horse though.
